Roger will meet Novak Djokovic for the 25th in the Rome semifinal after dismissing Andreas Seppi, who at no stage at all, posed a threat. The Federer Express had an astounding 81% 1st serve accuracy and won in 54 minutes.

Earlier, Roger was tested against 2003 French Open champion Juan Carlos Ferrero in a three set match, but on that occasion he was never looking at departing.

I predict its going to be a tight 3 setter, Djokovic played Tsonga in his quarterfinal and totally crushed him. But you can say Tsonga has never been a real threat on clay and last year, lost to Roger in straight sets in Rome. The last time Federer played Djokovic was the heartbreaking semifinal of last years US Open where he held two match points for a place in the final.

"I was happy with everything," stated Federer. "I knew Seppi being a favourite for the fans here was going to be a tough match. I was able to really take it to him right from the start, being aggressive, and it all played out. It's a nice win on clay for me."

"Tomorrow, I've got a chance against Djokovic," Federer said. "I'm looking forward to that match. It's another night session. I'm happy I'm playing so well on the court."
