Sorry about the delayed posts, I was a bit too busy in the past few days. I've decided to summarize Roger's past three matches all in one post.

FEDERER VS MAHUT
Another slight test for Roger, he didn't really keep his rhythm throughout the whole match. Mahut played well, considering clay courts don't favour his style. He broke Roger in the fourth set, but failed to consolidate it and Roger closed out the match 6-3 4-6 6-2 7-5.

FEDERER VS GOFFIN
Goffin played extremely well at the start of match and even managed to take the first set 7-5. A closer 2nd set, but Roger broke Goffin crucially at 5-5 to level the match at one set all. From then on, Roger controlled most rallies and served 12 aces to win 5-7 7-5 6-2 6-4. I was impressed by Goffin's performance and so was Roger, he really showed show great tennis and I'm sure he'd progress even further at furture Grand Slams.

"Obviously in some ways I guess it's tough for me coming out not knowing exactly what his favourite patterns are in the game, the way he serves, when he does what. But, no, he impressed me, and I enjoyed the match today."

FEDERER VS DEL POTRO
Del Potro raced to a 2 sets to love lead, dominant on serve and breaking Roger 4 times. But signs of his knee injury were affecting his 1st serve accuracy and movement around the court, and Roger exploited the opportunity to break twice in the third set and even bagel Del Potro in the fourth set. Del Potro had 2 break point chances in Roger's opening service game in the deciding set, but failed to convert them. After that, Del Potro had failed to make any impression on Roger's service games and Roger won the match 3-6 6-7(4) 6-2 6-0 6-3 in 3 hours and 14 minutes.

"I thought it was very good conditions for him," said Federer. "I knew it was going to be tough anyway. I have been struggling to find my rhythm. I did feel it in the first set, even though he was up two sets. I was finding a way back and starting to feel better. [I was] just trying to figure out how to play a guy who returns from so far back on a slow court. Do you try to serve through him? Which I tried; [it] didn't work. Or do I try and move it around a bit? And that worked a bit better, but it was really in the mix up that I found success.

"[The] second set was a tough set for me to lose, but he played a really good breaker and got the better of me. But I was happy that the first two sets took some time, because I did favour myself once the match got longer. I'm very happy with the way I fought and started in the third set, fourth set, and even in the fifth set, where, obviously, it was the toughest, because that was his last chance and his resistance maybe was the strongest there."

A few moments of the match, including Roger's uncharacteristic errors off his racquet early in the match, his scream ''SHUT UP!'' after a fan's call during a point and his fightback to win.

COMING UP - FEDERER VS DJOKOVIC IN BLOCKBUSTER SEMIFINAL
Roger will play Novak Djokovic tomorrow in a repeat of last year, all I can say is that Roger must play the same peRFect tennis like he did last year against Novak. Both players have had tough matches coming into this semi, so it's very hard to predict a winner. My pick? Roger winning a hard fought four set battle - 6-7 6-4 7-5 7-5.
