I have decided to scrap Roger's semifinal match against Youzhny, it was a great match for Roger and superfast as well, there was nothing to really to write - summing the match up Roger was just too good as he usually always is.

Roger was the favourite coming into this match, he started off breaking Haas in the first game and held serve but not before long Haas broke back after a mishit forehand by Roger at break point. Roger didn't have the aggression in his shots suddenly and Haas was hitting some beautiful ground strokes to prevent Roger a chance to break back. The tiebreaker was close but Roger framed his return to give Haas the set 7-6(5).

Roger again was hitting uncharacteristic errors in the second set and lost serve at 4-4 in an incredible rally which ended with him hitting a rushed drop shot and Haas flicking a topspin backhand winner which took the crowd out of their seats. Haas served out the match to win his second Halle title (first in 2009). He played extremely well and deserved the win after recovering from hip surgery which sidelined him for more than a year in 2010.

“I should never have lost the first set. So, obviously that hurt,” said Federer. “He got momentum after that. He started to serve a bit better. I missed a few more forehands and missed a few chances earlier on in the second. So, it was a tough match for me to lose really... He was aggressive, he was maybe the more inspired player out there today. And that’s why he deserved to win.”
